Everyone has a travel story to tell……..
Whether we are traveling domestically or to a foreign land, our experiences have the potential to shake the very core of our existence. It takes just a single emotion to trigger an unforgettable memory.
Train, bus, plane, boat and car or by foot, every experience is unique. Some use itineraries, some take guided tours. And there are those like myself who travel freely strolling the cities aimlessly in order to experience them.
These experiences bring meaning to our lives. They can move us, change us, redefine us. Many travel to escape, to explore, to discover. And to be introduced to a new language, exotic foods, new friends and perhaps find unexpected love.
Since I was a little girl, I’ve always been drawn to Italy. And as I grew older, so did the connection. And in the Spring of 2006, for 4 weeks I was free to discover Milan and Tuscany for myself, by myself.
Finally, the connection was made!
Walking for miles from village to village, drinking, dining and mixing with the locals, intrigued by each others worlds. During those 4 precious weeks I learned more about myself than in the previous 20 years.
It was wonderful!
This blog/short story takes place in Italy and Spain from September 30th to October 13th, 2019. Starting in Venice, Florence, The Winery, Volterra, San Gimignano, Pisa, Cinque Terra, Milan and our final stop Zaragoza, Spain.
It can be a challenge to convey a personal experience to others and if my words don’t do it justice, hopefully the images will.
